Butte, Mar. 4.-- The body of Jacob H. Jackson, one of the founders of Lincoln post No. 2, G. A. R., and member of the Montana Society of Pioneers, who died Tuesday was buried today at the soldiers' home in California, according to word received in Butte today. Mr. Jackson, who came to Montana with A. M. Holter of Helena, was a native of Norway and served two enlistments in the United States army.

Jacob H. Jacksen and Miss Julia M. Darrow were married on January 2, 1893, at Butte, Montana; the marriage record showing that he was 52 years old, born in Norway, the son of Hans Jacksen and Sina Bakka. Julia died in November of 1893, and Jacob is listed on the 1900 U.S. Census for Butte City, Silver Bow County, Montana, aged 60 years, born May, 1840 in Norway, and widowed; he had immigrated to America in 1861 and was working as a post office clerk.

Military History:
(1st) - Company I, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, enlisted on December 25, 1861 at La Crosse, Wisconsin; discharged for disability at Island No. 10, on February 5th, 1863, a private.
(2nd) - Company K, 23rd Illinois Infantry, enlisted on March 31, 1865; mustered out at Chicago, Illinois on July 24, 1865, a sergeant.
Domestic History:
Born in Norway, aged 69 (in 1910), a widower who had been working as a janitor in Butte, Montana. Nearest relative is a daughter, Julia Darrow Jackson, a resident of Butte, Montana.
Jacob Jackson died at the Home on February 29, 1920.
