WORLD WAR I VETERAN

Oscar Anderson was the son of John and Mary Anderson. He was born December 27, 1887 in Tulilea, Sweden. He was five foot 8-1/2 inches tall and had a fair complexion.

MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted August 15, 1918 at Haino, Alaska. Served in the U. S. Army as a Private in Company "A" of the 30th Bn U.S. Guards. He was discharged May 22, 1919 at Seward, Alaska.

He applied for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home in 1949. He declared he had been a resident of the state since 1903 and had resided in Port Orchard, Washington. His wife was Ellen A. Anderson and they had married January 28, 1945. His brother Charlie Anderson also lived in Port Orchard.

He died age 62 years at the Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on June 15, 1950. He is buried in the Home Cemetery.
