He was born Aug. 14, 1948, at Doniphan, Mo., the son of Guy Omer and Bessie Tieman Deckard. He graduated from Wichita North High School. A Hutchinson resident for 16 years, formerly of El Dorado, he was employed with Groendyke Transport as a truck driver.
On Nov. 19, 1991, he married Barbara L. Parker at Lyons. She Survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Kenneth Winn Deckard, Shidler, Okla.; a stepson, Gayland Ray Parker, Hutchinson; an adopted son, Jeffery Michael Deckard, Hutchinson; an adopted daughter, Kaci Lynn Deckard, Hutchinson; four brothers, Johnny, Benton, Ark., Ray, Hardy, Ark., Leroy, Marion, Ill., and Donald, Grover Hill, Ohio;/ two sisters, Betty Gribble, and Jeanie Bolingbaugh, both of Grover Hill, Ohio, two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ralph and Bobby.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Fred Obold presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
