Death of Mrs. Jewett.
After an illness of about 20 months, Mrs. Nancy Jewett, wife of S. Jewett, died of cancer, on the 30th day of December, 1894, aged 54 years. She had been under treatment at Kansas City, for the past 17 months.

Mrs. Sherburne Jewett died at Hartford, Kansas, last Sunday evening, and her remains were brought to Monticello and interred in Oak Woods cemetery this forenoone. The deceased was a resident of Monticello twenty years ago, where she lived nine years, her husband being a well known jeweler. She is survived by her husband and one daughter. The deceased's maiden name was Nancy Matheson; she was a sister of Mr. Alex Matheson of Hopkinton.
NOTE: Above obit had her maiden name as Mathewson. This is incorrect.
