Burnalee Duncan, 78, died Wednesday, December 8, 1993 in Shamrock.

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 1993 at the Bible Methodist Church in Shamrock with Rev. Nina F. Hervey, pastor, officiating.

Cremation was by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.

She was born on August 27, 1915 in Chico to B. W. and Myrtle Nix Beaird and came to Collingsworth County with her family in 1929. A graduate of Wellington High School in 1932 and a graduate from what is now West Texas A&M, she married Byron Duncan on Jan. 8, 1935 in Wellington. She was a school teacher having taught in Wellington and Quail until her retirement in 1971.

She and her husband moved to Waco in 1971 to work with the Methodist Children's Home. In 1975, they moved to Shamrock.

Mrs. Duncan was active in scouting when her children were small; was a former member of the B&PW Club; the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the First United Methodist Church in West.

She is survived by her husband, Byron, of Shamrock; two sons, Douglas Duncan of Lamesa and John Duncan of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
