"Clifford R. Banks ~~ Clifford R. Banks, 85, Plainfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage, Wis.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Plainfield. The Rev. Robert Newberrry will officiate. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon Sunday until the time of services at the church.
He was born on July 12, 1913, in Plainfield, the son of the late Harry and Hattie (Reese) Banks.
On Nov. 30, 1933, he was married to Effie Nigh in Plainfield. She survives.
Mr. Banks was engaged in farming and was employed as a carpenter at Nekoosa Paper Mills. He was also the leader of the band, "Cliff and His Sunset Ramblers."
In addition to his wife, Effie, he is survived by one daughter, Rebecca (Jack) Werner, Adams; one son, Clifford Ronald (Shirley) Banks, Pardeeville; four grandchildren; John and Jim Werner, Kim Burak and Clifford Banks III; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald; and one sister, Margaret.
Gasperic Funeral Home, Plainfield, assisted the family with arrangements."
