Charles T. Gallarno was born March 27, 1888 in La Porte City, Iowa to Fred and Clara (Piersall) Gallarno. In 1917, age the age of 29, he completed his draft registration card. He indicated that he was a farmer on the Colville Reservation in Spokane County and that his mother was dependent upon him for support.
MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted October 5, 1917 in Okanogan, Washington; served with 91st Division, Battery F, 346th Field Artillery of the United States Army; and was discharged with the rank of Private on February 7, 1919 at Camp Lewis.
On January 15, 1927, at the age of 38 years, Mr. Gallarno married Eva Hersey, age 20. They had a son, Charles, living with them in the Suburban District of Chelan County, Washington during the 1930 census. Three more children were born between 1930 and 1937: Clara E. [Smith], Eva Jean [Weavil], and Delano R. Gallarno. Mrs. Gallarno passed away on June 17, 1957.
In May 1964, Mr. Gallarno requested admittance to the Washington Veterans' Home in Retsil. He was approved on June 1, 1964.
Mr. Gallarno died on January 24, 1967 at the Veterans' Home Hospital at Retsil (Port Orchard), Washington and is buried in the Veterans' Home Cemetery.
