Myron Lovell, a pioneer farmer of Oshtemo, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Flora Rolfe on North Edwards street, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Death was due to old age and general breaking down. He had been ill for some time.
Coming to Oshtemo when the country was new and settling on a farm where he had lived most of his life, Mrs. Lovell became known by a large number of people in the county. He was born in Albany, N. Y. August 20, 1818. He was married February 1, 1840 at Cayuga, N. Y. to Caroline Williams and settled at Manchester, N.Y., In the same year. In 1857 (sic 1847) he decided to move to Michigan and purchased the farm in Oshtemo, where he lived until a month ago, when he came to stay with his daughter.
There survive besides his daughter, two sisters, Mrs. Olivia Vail of Auburn, N.Y. and Mrs. Oral Richardson of Tecumseh, one brother, George Lovell of Florida, and six children, (sic grandchildren). He also had six great-grand children. The body will be taken to Ostemo today and the funeral will be held at the west Oshtemo M.E. church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Burial will take place at Oshtemo cemetery.
