Mrs. Margaret Emma Sterner, 64. wife of Charles W. Sterner, died at her home, 152 Chambersburg Street, Saturday evening at 7:20 o'clock, of a cerebral hemorrhage suffered May. 5.

She was born in Mt. Joy township, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Hoffman) Spangler. She was one of twin daughters, the oldest children of Mr. and Mrs. Spangler. She was reared in Mt. Joy township and lived in Philadelphia for eight years, but had resided in Gettysburg 35 years.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Miss Astrea M. Sterner of Wilkinsburg, and Mrs. Merile R. Freed of New Oxford; three sons: Mervil L. Sterner of Gettysburg; Charles W. Sterner Jr. and Emory E. Sterner of York; three grandchildren; Six sisters: Mrs. Granville A. Study, her twin sister of Littlestown; Mrs. William W. Miller of Gettysburg R.D.; Mrs. Lydia Brown of Westminster, Maryland; Mrs. Vernon Myers of Silver Run R.D.; Mrs. John Staley of Littlestown; Mrs. Cletus E. Pitzer of Gettysburg; and three brothers: Milton H. Spangler of Harney; Noah H. Spangler of Littlestown R.D.; and Mervin A. Spangler of Taneytown R.D. also survive.

She was a member of Saint James' Lutheran Church, and also belonged to the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, Degree of Pocahontas, Ladies' auxiliary of the G.A.R.

Funeral services from the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev Earl J. Bowman officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
