Ellen E. (Christianson) Bacon, 95, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died of natural causes Wednesday at a local hospital.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at O'Connor Funeral Home. Funeral Liturgy is 2 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Pat Smith of Black Eagle; sister-in-law Mary Ellen Christianson of Great Falls; four grandchildren, Michael J. Bacon and Camie (Mike) Zufelt of Helena, Douglas S. Bacon of Sheridan, Ore., and David (Cora) Bacon of Great Falls; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ellen was born April 11, 1914, in Black Eagle, to Benjamin and Lily Christianson. She grew up in Black Eagle and attended Hawthorne and Collins schools.
She married John F. Bacon in 1932 in Fort Benton.
Ellen worked for the City Treasurer and also for the Cascade County clerk and recorder. She was devoted to her church and her dear friends at Our Lady of Lourdes. She enjoyed volunteering, doing needlework, and playing cards and pool.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bacon, in 1979; son LeRoy Bacon in 1971; brother Carl Christianson in 1994; sister Laura Staats ; and grandsons Thomas in 1990, and Nick in 1996.
