Claude M. Castleton was born August 27 [sic?], 1893, the son of Everett and Lucy Casleton. His surviving siblings were Mrs. Joe Koss of Du Quoin and Barney Castleton of Yuma, AZ.
He married Hazel Boggass on September 1, 1924. She survived as did a daughter, Mrs. Hilda Hobbs of Tucson, AZ.
Mr. Castleton was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the VFW in Du Quoin and was a member of the Elkville First Christian Church.
Mr. Castleton died at the age of 76 at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Marion. His funeral service was held at Keeling Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Rev. Chester Groves officiated.
