John Brown, 53, dies at hospital
John E. Brown, Sr.
John E. Brown, Sr., 53, of 703 South 10th street, died at 1:35 p.m. Monday at the Adams county memorial hospital, where he was admitted Saturday evening after becoming seriously ill at his home.
Born in Decatur July 15, 1918, he was a son of Elliott and Myrtle Chronister-Brown, and was married to Ruth Irene Nevil May 4, 1941. He was formerly employed by the Indiana state highway department.

Mr. Brown, a World War 11 veteran, attended the Decatur Missionary church, and wa a member of the Decatur Moose lodge.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, one son, one sister, one brother, three grandchildren. One daughter, Jackie, and two sisters are deceased.

Funeral rites will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Zwick funeral home, with Rev. Roy Mickley and Rev. Leroy Rusher officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside cemetery at Geneva, with military rites by Adams Post 43, American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until time of the services. Moose memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. (Tues 2-8-1972)
