Ned Newsom, age 69, died at his Midlothian home on May 2, 2009. He was born in Brownwood, Texas and worked for the USDA as a food inspector until his retirement in 2000. Ned also belonged to the Woodsman of the World and the NRA. He is survived by his wife Norma; daughters Lesli Jan Phariss of Orange; Amy Lynn Hayes and husband Danny of Midlothian; Toledo Lorene Martinez and husband Anthony of Mansfield; his sons Jesse Franklin Ford, Jr. and wife Belinda of Burleson; Doyle Wayne Ford and wife Angie of Midlothian; his brothers, twin, Roy Ted Newsom and wife Sandy of Granbury; Mick Newsom and wife Barbara of Merkel; sister Nancy Newsom of Breckenridge; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Midlothian Bible Church with Reverend David Wyrtzen officiating, followed by interment at Midlothian Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5th from 7-9 PM at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home in Irving. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Special Olympics.
