The 203rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry was organized at Philadelphia on September 10, 1864, to serve as sharp-shooters in Gen. Birney's division. The men came from the city of Philadelphia and the counties of Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, and Lycoming. Officers of Company E included Capt. Alexander M'Cuen, 1st Lt. Charles B. Duncan, and 1st Lt. Michael K. Minnich. Robert Coover mustered into service on September 5, 1864, and mustered out with the company on June 22, 1865.

He was married twice 1st time to Josephine R Bunker they had two children Robert Mifflin and John Benjamin. Josephine died of consumption. The second time he married was to Josephine s sister Eliza Jane Bunker they had six boys and three girls. Catherine, Ethel, Emma, Hiram, Enos, Harry, Edwin, William, James. Harry had a twin who died at birth ( do not know or can not at this time find a name for his twin)∼His Children where Catherine Walton,Foulk,Myers,Ingram - Emma Murphy,Miller - Ethel Oatman,Norris - Hiram (Howard Jones) - Harry Wesley, Edwin Guy, William Lewis, Enos, James Thaddeus. Robert's 1st wife was Josephine Bunker she died of consumption 1878 - They had two children Robert Mifflin, John Benjamin. He married her sister Eliza Jane Bunker she died 1926 and is buried in same cemetery but no marker or location.
