Mary J. Keane Icenogle, age 80, of 1402 N. 12th Street, Quincy, died on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 1:20 p.m. in her home. She was born on March 16, 1929 in Quincy, Illinois a daughter of Alfred (Bud) and Helen (Wessel) Keane. She married Lilburn D. (Bud) Icenogle on August 11, 1948. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1972. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Mary was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She was a housemother at QuAnada for over 20 years before her retirement in 2007. She enjoyed dancing, She loved her dogs, her family and her friends. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to Terrible's Casino. Mary helped anyone she could and was a terrific caregiver. Survivors include: FOUR CHILDREN: Nancy Icenogle of Maywood, MO, Vicki Hagerbaumer and her husband Terry of Quincy and Mark and James Icenogle both of Quincy; FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Dale James Holt and his wife Lora Lynn, Jeff Icenogle and his wife Jessica, Corey Icenogle and his wife Leigh, and Steven Icenogle; GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Shelby Holt, Katelyn Holt, McKayla Holt, Shayne Icenogle, Haylee Icenogle, and Kyndle Icenogle; ONE GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILD: David James Holt; Many nieces and nephews also survive. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Judy, two sisters, Phyllis Zang and Joan Steinkamp, two brothers, Patrick and James Keane, and a grandson David Holt. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 11:30 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Grade School, QuAnada for Clients Needs, or Quincy Notre Dame High School.
