Jennifer Smith Walters, age 28, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of May 4, 2009. She fought a courageous three year battle with brain cancer.


Jen was born on December 6, 1980 in Fort Knox, KY. She grew up in Bountiful, UT and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1999. She attended Utah State University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in community health. Jen was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.


She was married to her eternal companion, Ryan Walters, on September 27, 2002 in the Salt Lake Temple. On Easter Day 2006, their little miracle, Noah, was born. Jen loved being a mother and enjoyed every day she had with her son.


Jen will be greatly missed by her husband, Ryan; son, Noah (age 3); parents, Dr. W. Dean and Joanne Smith of Bountiful; sisters, Lora Romney (Brad), Maryann Murphy (Todd), Becky Ord (Andrew).


Jen was the light of our life, and her example of courage and endurance will remain with us always. Her love for life was contagious, and she met every challenge with optimism and faith. Every day we will speak your name. Every day you will be missed.


Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009 in the Woods Cross Fourteenth Ward Chapel, 1500 West 2175 South, Woods Cross, UT, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Family and friends may also attend a viewing on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brother's Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, UT.
Interment will be at the Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery.
