Anton Carl Bruns, 89 of Waverly, Iowa, died on Friday evening, May 28, 1982 at the Sunset nursing home in Park Rapids, Minnesota, where he had been a resident for two days.

Anton was born on December 15, 1892, in Tulare, South Dakota, the son of Albert and Pauline Bathke Bruns.

They moved to the Waverly area where Anton attended school. On January 11, 1917 he married Louise Volker in St. Paul's Parsonage in Waverly. They lived in the Waverly area most of their married life where he worked as a carpenter.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Louise on March 6, 1975, four daughters, two brothers and two sisters.

He was survived by three sons; Cecil Bruns of Park Rapids, Minnesota, Joseph Bruns of Waverly, and Glenn Bruns of Alba Texas, and one daughter, Virginia, Mrs. Paul Weimer of Las Vegas, Nevada. 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 2, 1982 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, Rev. Glent T. Wheeler officiating.
Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly.

Pallbearers were, Ralph Brown, Richard Brown, Alan Bruns, Darrell Bruns, James Bruns and Ronald Bruns.
