Gordon G. Blackmer

Traverse City- Gordon G. Blackmer, 57, truck driver and musician, died Wednesday at Munson Medical Center.
He had worked for 40 years for the Alpena Wholesale Company, Kroupa's , Inc, Chef Pierre and Michigan Milk Producers Association.
He also was lead guitarist for many different bands in the area.
He had been a resident of Traverse City since 1972, moving from Cadillac.
Born in Cadillac on May 13, 1925, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theordore Blackmer. On Aug 9, 1972 he was married to Leila F. (Titlson) Loomis, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Greg and Rick, both of Cadillac, Mark of Virginia and John of Texas; a daughter, Wendy of Cadillac; three stepsons, Edward, William and Thomas Loomis all of Traverse City; a stepdaugher, Mrs. Leonard (Sharon) Winters of Traverse City; three brothers, Peter, Ellswoth and Ralph, all of Cadillac; a sister, Irene Hoisington of Cadillac; and six grandchildren.
A daughter, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Reynolds-Hanson -Jonkoff Funeral Home, Traverse City, with the Rev. Dennis Mote officiating. Burial will be in Long Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family fill be present from 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Cancer Society.
