Leonidas Lafayette (Lon) Price was the child of George Washington Price and Parilee O. (Pally) Honeycutt Price. He spent his entire life in the
Toomsuba, Lauderdale County, MS area. He was a
general merchandise store owner and operator.
At one time he sold caskets from his store, though they were stored in a separate warehouse.
He was married three times, first to Belzora Marilar (Bell) Shelton. They had 4 sons, 2 of whom died young. One son, George Andrew Jackson Price, born 12 March 1878, died 16 January 1879 is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Dalewood,
Lauderdale County, MS. This cemetery has been abandoned and many graves are under the waters of Dalewood Lake. After Bell's death he married Annie Boling Hand of Newton County, MS. Annie bore him 6 more sons and they adopted one daughter. Late in his life Lon married Viola Ray Helm. They separated.
Lon died in Lewis Hospital, Meridian, Lauderdale County, MS of chronic Prostatis and acute heart failure.
