Mack A. Robertson, 88, of Ballinger passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Mack was born May 29, 1920 in Gregg County, Texas to William Bryan and Cora Belle (Garner) Robertson. He and Mary Ella Kiker were married in Borger, Texas on January 16, 1945, and the couple has lived in Ballinger since 1983. During WWII Mack proudly served his country almost four years in the US Air Force and achieved the rank of corporal. He was employed as maintenance foreman for Panhandle Producing Company's gas refinery in Sanford for over 35 years. He was head of the maintenance department at Frank Phillips Jr. College in Borger and also did maintenance work at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger for several years. Mack and Mary were faithful members of that church, both serving in various capacities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Peggy Robertson; brothers, Lawrence E., William Louis, and Bobby Charles Robertson; and a sister, Cleo Herrin.

Mack is survived by his wife, Mary Robertson of Ballinger; three daughters, Donna Jensen and husband, Barry, of Mesa, Arizona; Kay Smith and husband, Steve, of Ballinger; Janice Cox and husband, Burl, of Arlington ; and a sister Janie Belle Barnes of Visilia, CA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Aaron Cox, John Cox, Wendy Logue and Don, Karyn Robinson and husband, Keith Smith and Kim, Justin Smith and Rachel, Faith Bussey and Patrick; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends during visitation Friday, February 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist in Ballinger with Rev. Joe Chamness officiating. Keith Smith, Justin Smith, Patrick Bussey, Don Logue, Brian Arrott, and Larry Hays will serve as pallbearers. Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family wishes to express special gratitude to Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab, to Norma Bryan, Joni Gray, and Rosemarie Cowan. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
