We regret to hear of the death of Mr William Galloway, of Pahautanui, a well known and highly respected settler of that district. He was a member of the Wellington Hospital Board and had done good service in local government. He was 63 years of age and leaves a grown-up family, amongst whom are Mr Stan Galloway, Ohau; Mrs Harris, of Manakau and Mr Bert Galloway of Shannon. They will have the sincere sympathy of all their friends in their bereavement.

Mr William Galloway, who died a few days ago, was an old and respected resident of Pahautanui. He had been ailing with heart trouble for a number of years. For fifteen years he was a member of the Hutt County Council and he also occupied a seat on the Charitable Aid Board for a considerable period. During the war he was chairman of the Pahautanui Patriotic Society. His wife and a son died during the epidemic and his brother passed away four weeks ago. Deceased has left a grown up family of nine. The funeral was very largely attended. The Rev C. H. Isaacson conducted the burial service.
