Moved to St. Louis, Missouri after Emily's birth
Later moved to Salem, Missouri - St. Clair, Missouri - and finally to her daughter, Edith's home, in St. Louis, Missouri after the death of her husband & brother
Four children: Emily Raines Schmidt, Annie Raines Vielhaber, Edith Raines Hacker and James Raines

OBITUARY St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Friday, March 14, 1947:
"RAINES, EMILY (nee Madeley). St. Clair, MO. Thurs., March 13, 1947; dear mother of Emily Schmidt of St. Clair, Annie Vielhaber and Edith Hacker; sister of the late George Madeley; mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.
Funeral from Wacker-Helderle Chapel, 3634 Gravois, Sat., March 15 3:00 p.m.
Interment Vallhalla Cemetery."
