She was the daughter of John Kibel/Kaebel, born 3/2/1826 and died 8/7/1868 and Catharine Thomas, born 9/18/1834 and died in 1912. Elizabeth was know as "Lizzie" in her early years on the Kibel side of family and later as "Emma". Her siblings were; Charles Conrad, b. 3/12/1858 d. 6/6/1937, George Henry, b. 7/12/1859 d. 3/29/1941, Anna Rebecca, b. 7/31/1862 d. 12/24/1949, Mary L., b. 1/1867 d. Bef. 1937, Manda, b. Abt. 1867 d. 1870. Emma was married three times. Her first marriage was to Hilorius "Hily" Theis on December 27, 1877 in Eminence, Logan County, Illinois and lasted a little over ten years. This first marriage produced four children, John, Anna, Martha, and George before his death in the late 1880's. Her second marriage was to James Lee Edwards on December 2, 1890 and lasted almost four years before his death in November 1894. This marriage produced one child, Casle Gard Edwards. Emma's final marriage was to John Franklin Reed on August 5, 1895 and lasted the longest. This last marriage produced no children.
