Nina Finch, 88, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at Monette Manor. She was born March 29, 1921, in Black Oak to the late Rosco and Eva Whitley. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Monette Church of Christ and a lifetime member of Buffalo Island.
Survivors include a daughter, Nina Carner of Jonesboro; two sons, Henry Dean Finch of Jonesboro and Robbie Doyle Finch of Beebe; a sister, Margaret Fletcher of Caraway; five grandchildren, Vickie Huckaby, Suzanne Burch, Jeff Finch, Lara Parrish and Beth Nance; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Henry "Irish" Finch; three sisters, Nettie Porter, Emma Fetters and Lorene Mangrum, and a brother, Lawrence Whitley.

A celebration of her life was held on Sunday, May 10, at 2:30 p.m. at the Monette Church of Christ with Larry Woodward and Chub Qualls officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Visitation was Saturday, May 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were her grandsons.

The family requests lasting memorials be given to the Monette Church of Christ.
