Gustave Henry Brinkmeyer was born in Leslie, MO, the son of Arnold Brinkmeyer and his wife, Caroline nee Horstmann. He received his education and grew to manhood in Leslie, where he also found employment. On November 27, 1919, he was united in marriage with Alice C. Rohlfing at Berger, MO. This union was blessed with one child that died in infancy. Gustave and Alice made their home in New Haven, MO where he initially found employment as a clerk in the J. P. Altheide store. In later years Mr. Brinkmeyer became the manager of the Kroger store on Main Street in New Haven and later became a salesman. He was known for his integrity and high sense of honor. He was ill for quite some time, finally entering rest on Sunday, December 27, 1936, at his home, 401 Seigel Avenue. Gustave was 52 years old. He was survived by his wife Alice Brinkmeyer nee Rohlfing, his brother William Brinkmeyer of Washington, MO; two sisters, Annie, wife of Louis Luchsinger of St. Louis, MO, and Carrie, wife of Sam Toelke of Leslie, MO, two half brothers, Dave and Joe Hartmann of Leslie, MO, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr.and Mrs. William L. Rohlfing; five brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
Funeral services were held at 12:45 from the residence and 1:00 in the Methodist Church, Rev. Payne officiating. Interment was made at Senate Grove, MO
