OBITUARY
GROVE H. LOOMIS
Newton, April 8--G. H. Loomis, a well-known Newton real estate broker, died this morning. He was born in a farm on the outskirts of Westfield 75 years ago, and was educated in the district schools of his native town and later in the state normal school.
For a number of years he was employed as a teacher in Springfield. About 50 years ago, he married Miss Mary Wood of Springfield.
After leaving Springfield, he was employed for some time in the Boston custom house and later opened a photographic studio on Tremont Row, Boston. He was a Mason and an Odd Fellow.
He was always deeply interested in the Westfield Normal School, and more than half a century ago, planted many of the magnificent trees with which it is now surrounded. He leaves a widow and a daughter.
