Norma June Bunting, 96, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, died there Wednesday, July 12, 2000, following a short illness. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, where friends may call one hour before service time. The Rev. Stan Wierson will officiate. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her son [names omitted for privacy]; two grandchildren [omitted]; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Jancy June; and her brother, Howard.
Norma was born March 11, 1904, in Marion, to Norman and Mary June Bunting. She married John W. Bunting, who died in 1970. Norma worked at a law firm in Marion for many years as a proof-reader. She was a former member of the New Arts Club, Musical Literary Society of Marion, Daughters of the American Revolution and she sang with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Norma was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Marion, where she sang in the choir.
