Martha Louise Hughes, 69, of New Haven, IN, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at 6:44 a.m. at Harborside Healthcare, in New Haven.
Mrs. Hughes was a cook at St. Anne's Home, Fort Wayne, for more than 30 years and a member of Woodburn Missionary Church.
She was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Fort Wayne to Omer M. and Fairy Mae Jackson Fey. She married Donald Ray Hughes in Fort Wayne in 1966, and he preceded her in death in 1989.
Surviving are five sons, Jose Miquel (Sofia) Parra, of Salem, OR; Brian Kelly Parra and Kevin Scott (Lori) Parra, both of Fort Wayne; Morgan William (Becky) Hughes, of New Haven; and Donald Wayne Hughes, of Goodyear, AZ; two brothers, David Keith Fey and Terry Michael Fey, both of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeal Homes, Roanoke, with Rev. Robin LaRue officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke. Pallbearers were Jose M. Parra, Brian K. Parra, Kevin S. Parra, Morgan W. Hughes, Donald W. Hughes and Brian K. Parra II. Honorary pallberears were David K. Fey and Terry M. Fey.
Preferred memorials are to the family in memory of Trent Parra, in care of Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN 46783.
