HIXSON

Harry Swimley Hixson, son of Amos and Lucinda Hixson, was born August 31, 1878, on a farm northeast of Russell, and departed this life Friday morning, December 15, 1961, at the Horton Nursing Home in Glenwood, Iowa, where he had made his home the last number of years. He was 83 years, three months and 15 days of age at his passing.

Mr. Hixson lived most of his life around the Russell community but in later years he moved near Sidney, where he lived the rest of his life. He has made many friends throughout his life and will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Nora Sellers of Chariton and Mrs. Lennie Carson of Williamson. Preceding him in death were four sisters, Mrs. Flora R. Long, Mrs. Annie B. Cooper, Mrs. Mildred E. Foster and Rocelia Hixson. Two brothers also preceded him in death, Chester E. and Glenn E. Hixson.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m., at the Miley Chapel. The Rev. Shickell officiated. Interment was in the Bethel cemetery.
