SUSAN ECKARDT
Mrs. Susan Eckardt, 85, a former resident of Kiel, died this morning at Bethany Manor Home, 612 St. Clair Ave.
Born March 26, 1876 in the Town of Meeme, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Henschel. She was married to Gustave Eckardt and the couple operated a meat market in Kiel until Mr. Eckardt's death in 1926.
Mrs. Eckardt lived with a daughter, Mrs. Clara Brockmann, 3022 N. 8th St., until recently. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Kiel.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Brockmann and Mrs. Hilda Mog, Slinger, Wis.; three sons, Arno of Marshfield, Emil of Milwaukee, and Gustave of Wilmette, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Ida Gutschow, Sheboygan, Mrs. Alma Wernicke, Cleveland, Mrs. Edna Schuette, Kaukauna, Mrs. Louise Boeldt, Manitowoc and Mrs. Mary Gosse, Owen, Wis.; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, the Rev. Vernon Jaberg, pastor of St. Peter's Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the time of services.
