Frank's Obituary from Unknown Newspaper, but probably one from Lagrange, Indiana:
"Dr. Frank Carney, a LaGrange native, died Friday at St. Clair, Michigan, where he had been the Mayor for the last 15 years. He had undergone surgery in a Detroit hospital 2 days earlier. Funeral services were conducted in the First Methodist Church in St. Clair Monday. A second service was held at the Carney Memorial Chapel in LaGrange at 2 p.m. The Rev. Rex Custer, pastor of the First Methodist Church in LaGrange, officiated at the LaGrange services. The members of the city council of St. Clair, with whom Dr. Carney served as a councilman for 10 years, attended the services at LaGrange in a body. Dr. Carney was born in LaGrange October 24, 1885, the son of the late John and Susan Rowan Carney. With the exception of 13 months in the Medical Corps during World War I, Dr. Carney practiced medicine in St. Clair until his semi-retirement several years ago. He had been a staff doctor for hospitals in St. Clair, Port Huron, and Mercy. Dr. Carney was active in Masonic organizations and was a charter member of the St. Clair Lions Club. A member of the Methodist Church, he served on the board of Trustees, was a long-time official of the church's official board and was active in other church organizations. He was serving his seventh year as a member of the State Bridge Commission, was a member of the St. Clair County Coordinating Zoning Commission and had been active in the work of the Industrial Development Corporation. He was a member of the St. Clair school board for 24 years and a 5 year member of the County Board of Supervisors. A road in the St Clair area recently was named Carney Drive in his honor. A Democrat, Dr. Carney was an unopposed Candidate for his sixteenth term as Mayor in Republican St. Clair. Surviving are his widow, the former Beulah Woodworth of LaGrange; several nieces and nephews, including Frank, John, Willard and Rollin E. Carney all of LaGrange, and Mrs. Phillip LeRoque of Bristol, Indiana."
