CONCORD--A 23-year-old Chester County man died yesterday when his pickup truck slammed into the back of a Ford Explorer stopped at a red light on Route 322, state police said.
Jason Michael Abbondi of the 200 block of Highland Drive, Landenberg, was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. The other driver, Thomas J. Siedzkowski, 59, of Glen Mills, suffered minor injuries. State police said Siedzkowski had stopped his vehicle at a red light and was waiting to turn left into the Concord Industrial Park when Abbondi, traveling northbound on Route 322, crashed into it around 9:20 a.m.
Abbondi was not wearing a seat belt. Siedzkowski was treated at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Middletown Township. Weather was not a factor, state police said. An investigation is continuing.
