She was the daughter of Hubbard Wilson and Betsey Ann (Newhall) McKoy of Felton, Santa Cruz Co., Calif. She was named Sierra Nevada because she was born at Mount Gregory, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

She married Thomas Benton Hubbard of Woodland, Yolo Co., Calif., July 18, 1871 in Felton, Santa Cruz Co., Calif.

Lived for a time in Woodland, Yolo Co., Calif., Felton, Santa Cruz Co., Calif., and settled in San Jose, Santa Clara Co., Calif., and "engaged" in the Lumber Business. [Hubbard and Johnson Lumber Company]

In San Jose they built a house at 545 St. John St. The original home was built on Lot #43 of the "Naglee and Sainsevain Addition" on the North West Corner of E. St. John and 12th. Streets. The homes appearance today is very different from the Way it looked when it was built in the 1880's. [I have a picture of the original house] I believe the house was remodeled around 1901 and almost double the size of the original home. Sierra Nevada lived there until she died in 1939.
