Jimmy was the youngest son born to Howard and Minnie Whittington. Siblings included Ellen Marie and George and Calvin (twins). He was buried on September 9, 1944, aged 14 years, 3 months and 15 days. The death record for Jimmy says, "Verdict of Coroner's jury was, self-inflicted due to bullet wound. In right temple."
