Nancy born Nancy Elizabeth Wester to Edward Wester and his wife Elizabeth Yancy in Georgia on 1 Dec 1827. Wed first to James Holliman 25 Feb 1844 St. Clair Alabama and had three children Edward, James P. and William Daniel Holliman (memorial 17041870). Nancy is said to have killed her first husband in Mississippi with a Pole Axe then fled to her parents home to St. Clair Alabama. Here she took up with a married blacksmith William Stapp who ran off with Nancy and started a new family in Arkansas. There is more to this drama in the pension applications filed by both "widows" of William Stapp. Nancy had six more children by Stapp. Carrie, George Washington, Marion Franklin, Susan Ellen, Elizabeth Ann and Nancy.
