Helen Mary Nieberding, 78 of 306 S. Wagner St., Fort Recovery, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at Jay County Hospital, Portland, Ind.
She was born Jan. 24, 1904, in St. Joe, the daughter of John and Anna (Guggenbiller) Brackman. She married Leo Nieberding Nov. 17, 1925, in St. Joe, and he preceded her in death in 1969.
Survivors include two sons, Paul, Payson, Ariz.; and Ralph, Fort Recovery; four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Marianna)Remaklus, Mrs. Alvin (Alma) Kaup, and Patricia Sommer, all of Fort Recovery; and Janet Betts Atascadero, California; a sister, Eullela Brackman, Dayton; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Nieberding was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, and the Altar Sodality.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Urban Dumminger officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
