Lansdale Man Passes Away At 85; Funeral Saturday

Samuel S. Conver, a retired Lansdale architect, died Wednesday at his home, 820 West Second street. He was eighty-five.
Mr. Conver was the architect for numerous area buildings including Masonic Temple, and Dresher Arcade, in Lansdale, and was a retired construction examiner for the Federal Housing Administration in Philadelphia.
Mr. Conver also was architect for the former Green Street School, which was built in Lansdale shortly before the turn of the century and was razed several years ago.
Born in Hatfield township, he was a son of the late William H.B. and Amanda (Souder) Conver. His wife, the former Laura Boyer, died in 1957.
He was a member of the American Institute of Architects and the New Jersey Board of Architects. A mason, he held membership in Shiloh Lodge No. 558, Lansdale, for many years.
Mr. Conver was a graduate of Drexel Institute of Technology, Philadelphia.
Surviving are a son, Samuel R., Lansdale; two granddaughters, Mrs. John A. Miller, Lansdale, and Mrs. Thomas Allen, Broad Axe, and six great grandchildren.
Services will be on Saturday.
