Kenneth was the son of Ryburn M. and Catherine Helen (Dupre) DeSplinter. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Hodel on April 6, 1979, in Kewanee, Ill.

He was a longtime farmer and livestock producer in rural Annawan.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda; two daughters, Mary (Troy) Rasmussen and Randi (James) Winfree; four sons, Jeff (Tina) DeSplinter, Joe (Susan) DeSplinter, Jesse DeSplinter and fiancee, Amanda and Cody Hodel; 13 grandchildren; his mother, Catherine DeSplinter; and three sisters, Bonnie (Willis) Fry, Cindy Hermann and Kris (Greg) Anders.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2003.
