CARPER - Carol Marie Bright, long-time Tulsa resident, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009. Born on December 17, 1938, she grew up near Gilcrease Hills, attended Central High School, and worked most of her life in the Tulsa area. Known for her strong will, she had a deep Christian faith, was always willing to help those in need, and devotedly cared for her mother through the twilight of her life. Carol had a great talent for crafts and a special knack for repairing gadgets. She enjoyed flower gardening and cherished her '57 Chevy, which was gifted by her beloved father. The many beautiful afghans that she selflessly crocheted for family and friends will be cherished for years to come. A loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, Carol will be sorely missed, and memory of her will be dearly held. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hillis Bright; brother, Michael Ray Bright; and her eldest son, David Carper. She is survived by: a son, Mark Carper; 2 grandchildren, Paul and Janelle Carper; a daughter-in-law, Michelle; a sister, Patricia Johnson; 2 brothers, Paul and Stephen Bright; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday , 11 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 204 E. 4th Street, Sand Springs. Her ashes will be interred at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sand Springs.
