Obituary of Mrs A P Boyd

Hannah Louise Bartlett was born at Stargard, Germany, December 5, 1859, and died in her home in Bassett, IA, April 15, 1930 at 11 o’clock pm.

She came to America with her parents at the age of 11 years and lived with them on their farm near Winslow, IL, and at an early age, she united with the Baswood German Methodist Church and has always been a true follower of the teachings of Christ.

She was united in marriage with Albert P Boyd at Orangeville, IL, June 30, 1880, and to this union three children were born, Henry P Boyd of Bassett, and Mrs Ray Duncan and Mrs R V Zimmerman who live
north of Bassett.

Shortly after her marriage, she and her husband moved to Laona, Winnebago county, IL. They resided there until 1905, when they came to Bassett, IA, where she has since made her home.

She was attacked by the dread disease pneumonia on April 6, all that medical skill and loving hand could do was of no avail, and she was called to her heavenly home on April 15th.

Mrs Boyd leaves to mourn her departure, her loving husband, Mr A P Boyd, and the above named children, ten grand-children and two brothers, Albert Bartlett of Winslow and Herman of Franks, Missouri. Her parents, three brothers and four sisters have preceded her in death.

She was a woman noted for her kinkliness of nature and nobility of character. She was known and loved by the entire community and her hosts of friends join with the family in their great sorrow.

Funeral services were held from the Bassett Community Church Good Friday afternoon, April 18, at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev G A Hess, pastor of the First Christian Church of Charles City, IA, with interment at the Rowley Hill Cemetery.
