Robert D. Reynolds of McVeytown, PA, 89, of U.S. Highway 522 South, McVeytown, died Thursday morning, May 7, 2009, while turkey hunting.

Born Nov. 21, 1919, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James S. and Jane (Flenner) Reynolds. His wife, Sara A. (Kain) Reynolds, whom he married Dec. 15, 1939, survives.
Also surviving are: four children, Judy A. Bush, of Tuscon, Ariz., Richard L. and wife, Sandy, of McVeytown, Dean C. and wife, Kathy, of New Cumberland, Dale A. and wife, Lynne, of Bernville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by one brother; one sister; and a grandson.

A World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in the South Pacific, and took part in the Battle of Iwo Jima.

He retired from FMC Corp., Lewistown.

He was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, served as treasurer of the Westminster Men's Bible Class and was a charter member of the West Granville Fire Co.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jeanette Mater and Lay Minister George Anderson officiating.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on May 30 at the church.

Private interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
