SCHROEDER, Arthur J. – of Chesaning, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary’s in Saginaw. He was 85 years of age. Art was born August 9, 1935 in Saginaw to the late Arthur G. and Marie (Leitow) Schroeder. He was a resident of Chesaning most of his life. Art was united in marriage to Patricia Sadilek on November 21, 1959. Mr. Schroeder retired from the USPS as rural carrier with 42 years seniority. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, served as President as well as on many committees at the church. He was also a member of the Chesaning Band Boosters and Chesaning area Jaycees. Art enjoyed playing the tuba in polka bands, spending time with family, playing cards, camping, socializing, eating at restaurants and had a love for cars. Surviving are: wife, Patricia; children: Pamela (Jim) Bates of Oakley, Amanda (Scott) Cohoon of Swartz Creek, John (Michelle) Schroeder of Chesaning, Tricia (Michael) Martin of Lansing; grandchildren: Ashley (Matthew) Fleming, Laura (Daniel) Farley, Ryan (Erica) Schroeder, Nick Schroeder, Ben Schroeder, Sam Schroeder, Alex Cohoon, Jacob Martin and Charles Martin; niece, Patty Goodrich of Chesaning; many dear friends. He was also preceded in death by: granddaughter, Madison Cohoon in 1997; sisters June and husband Elburn Thiel and Shirley Schroeder. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chesaning. Pastor Paul Tessmer officiating. Inurnment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his memory to the Zion Lutheran Church. Following Covid 19 guidelines, masks must be worn, and social distancing practiced at the church.
