MT. HERMON—Roy S. Alford, 93, and a resident of Mt. Hermon, died at 9:15 Friday, December 28, at Heritage Manor in Franklinton.
He was retired form Champion Paper Company in Pasadena, TX, and a member of the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Rita S. Alford of Mt. Hermon, son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert and Linda Alford of Spring, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Porter Deupree of Athens, TX, brother Raymond Alford of Mt. Hermon, sister, Clara Mae Smith of Charlotte, NC, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on December 31 at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
