Henrietta was the daughter of Robert Cole Jr. and Anne (Greenwell) Cole of St. Mary's County, Maryland. She married Basil Hayden Sr in Maryland in 1771. She was a pioneer to Kentucky along with her husband, Basil. In her lifetime, she buried 11 of her 15 children, four of them on the way to Kentucky. She was married secondly to Charles Ewing, then divorced him, claiming he was already married to someone else. She was a member of and is buried at Holy Cross Church. Her grave does not have a marker.
