County Pioneer,
Dies At Age 92
The Rev. B. P. Edwards will officiate
at funeral services, today
for James Evan Owen, 92, a lifelong
resident of Pulaski county,
who died in a Marion hospital yesterday
Last rites will be conducted at
4 p. m. from Stevens' funeral
chapel. Interment will follow in
Oakwood cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Aurdy
Hurst, Basil and Early Southern,
G. B. Queseuberry, O. O. Crowell
and Ralph Sutherland.
Mr. Owen was formerly connected
with the Baldwin-Fells detective
agency. One son, John E, Owen,
died four years ago.
He is survived by' his wife, Mrs.
Metta Southern Owen, Pulaski;
two daughters, Mrs. Thomas K.
Ward, Roanoke; Mrs. H. P. Malone,
Pulaski; two sons, Harry Iee
Owen, Pulaski; and B.S.Owen,
Salem; 16 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
