Michael L. Lefler, 49, of Max Meadows, VA, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2003 in Easton, MD. He was preceded in death by his father, James T. Lefler; step-father, Fred H. McKinney; grandmother, Fannie M. Mills and grandfather, Aaron J. Peake, Sr. He was employed by Shortt Landscaping and Construction Co. in Easton. Michael was a caring and kind person and a friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou McKinney, Max Meadows; sister, Donna L. Clark, Max Meadows; brother, Marty McKinney, Max Meadows; step children, Rodney Jones, Renee Dunford, both Max Meadows. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, at 2 p.m. in the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Lindamood officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
