Funeral Services for John E Altman
John Eason Altman 72 of Georgetown died at Memorial Hospital Friday night September 30. He had been in ill health for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at 4 pm Saturday at the chapel of the Mayer Funeral Home with the Rev E Paul McWhirter minister of Duncan Memorial Church officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr Altman was born Nov 8 1882 near Rhems but had lived in Georgetown for a number of years. He was a manager of the old Georgetown Ford Motor Co and later worked with Parrish Garage. He retired in 1941 because of ill health. He was a member of the Duncan Memorial Church and of the Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are his widow the former Miss Claudia Davis two sons Herman Altman of Savannah and Auburn Altman of Charleston three daughters Mrs EC Dudley and Mrs Bessie A Clerc both of Georgetown and Mrs HE Bonnit of Charleston seven grandchildren two great grandchildren a sister Mrs Oscar Prevatte of Plantersville and two brothers Eddie Altman of Georgetown and James Altman of Norfolk Va.
