William Edward BISHOFF-W.W.II-died 19 May 1945. Mr. and Mrs. C.G.R. Bishoff, of 30 Central Avenue (Shelby) have been notified by the War Department that their son, Pfc. WILLIAM BISHOFF, 19, was killed May 19 in Germany. Pfc. Bishoff had been a member of Company B, 241st Infantry, and had gone overseas in November of last year. He entered the armed services April 20, 1944. Bishoff becomes Shelby's first post V-E Day victim in Europe. William had been employed at the Ohio Seamless Tube Company to the time of his induction. He had come to Shelby with his parents from Zanesville where he had attended high school. His father is a car inspector for the B. & O. Railroad at the Parsel AAF Supply depot. Other survivors in addition to his parents are the following brothers and sisters: Edith, Annabell, Jesse, Bernard, Russell and an older brother, Pfc. Raymond J. Bishoff with the 46th Harborcraft Company in the Philippines. His paternal grandparents live in Zanesille.
