Ed Swapp, born in Provo, Utah, June 20, 1947, passed away suddenly January 25, 1997, at the age of 49.
Ed grew up in Midvale, Utah, and spent many summers at the Swapp Ranch in Southern, Utah. He was employed at Hill Air Force Base, a member of the 419th Fighter Wing Reserve Unit, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He previously worked for Kennecott Copper for 20 years.
Ed married Gina Ludwig on September 16, 1977, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and lived in Bennion for 20 years before moving to West Haven, Utah, in 1996.
He was the father of three children, Jake Douglas Swapp, Mandy Joyce Swapp, and Sarah RGene Swapp. He was an active member of the LDS Church and will long be remembered for his association with Cub Scouts. He was a fun-loving person and had a great love for his wife, his children and family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife and children; two sisters, Verla (Clyde) Nielsen, and Carolyn (Steve) Motta; also three stepsisters, Barbara (Eyston) Peterson, Karen (Rod) Milligan, and Donna (Bob) Clark.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Riggs Swapp; his mother, RGene Clark; and his stepfather, Douglas Blake Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kanesville Ward Chapel, 3939 West 400 South, via I-15 Exit 341.
Friends may call at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, Salt Lake City, on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment in Ogden. Funeral directors, Lindquist Ogden Mortuary.
