George married Beulah Atkinson (1784 - 1819), daughter of Empson & Sarah, on 26 Feb 1806, in Gloucester County, New Jersey. They had the following children:

After Beulah's death, George married Lydia Lawrie (1789 - 1856), daughter of Thomas Lawrie, Jr. and Ann Satterthwaite.
They were married on 25 April 1820. in Gloucester, New Jersey. Their children were:
Hannah Tatum, 1820 - 1895, married Greenberry P. Wood.
Lawrie Tatum, 1822 - 1900, married Mary Ann Dean.
David Tatum, 1823 - 1912, married Hannah Butler.
Sarah Tatum, 1825 - 1884, married Robert Stanley.

This family was Orthodox Quaker. George died during a visit to his sons, Lawrie and David, in Iowa. Son Issac Tatum died in a lumber mill accident.
